November 24, 2014

Parents,

It is a very short week so I don’t have a lot to share with you.  First, I hope each of you have a great holiday season.  I appreciate you sharing your children with me each week and I hope you and your family have time to relax and reflect on things to be thankful for over this past year.

Early Out!!

Tomorrow we will only go to school for a half day.  Our lunch and dismissal schedule will be exactly like it is on Fridays.  Parent pickup begins at 12:20 and bus riders leave at 12:30.

4th Grade Music Program

Your children will have their 4th grade music program next Thursday, December 4th, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Benton Gym.  Please have your child in my class by 6:15 p.m. that evening.  The doors to the classrooms will not open until 6:00.

MSSU Play

On December 3rd the students will travel to MSSU for a play.  We will leave Benton around 12:15 and will not return until approximately 2:00.  Please do not make plans to eat with your child that day as our lunch schedules will be different from our usual times.

AR and Progress Reports

I sent home progress reports last week with your children.  If your child has not given you their progress report please contact me as soon as possible and I will send you another copy.  We are already at 62% of our quarter for AR.  It is important that your child continue to read over our holiday break.

Food Basket Brigade

Fourth grade is leading an effort here at Benton to collect food items for the Newton County Food Basket Brigade.  We are asking for all the help we can get.  If you are able, please help by sending dry and canned food items to school with your children so we can help families in the community who are in need this holiday season.

That’s all I have for this week. Again, have a great week and may the odds ever be in your favor if you decide to do battle in the Black Friday shopping madness. Have a great Thanksgiving.

Mr. Daniel
